This article explains how notifications work in Spotler Connect. Notifications are received in two ways: through email, and through the platform 'Notification' tab.
On this page you have the following options:
Notifications
Notifications are designed to alert a user when a data object (product, contact, order, organisation, etc) cannot be adequately handled by Connect. This often results in an issue with importing or exporting the data. Notifications are sent by email, and both the email address used and the data included in the notifications can be changed in the Profile Settings.
Please note
Each notification is only sent once daily. If a persistent error exists, one email will be received daily until the issue is resolved.
Notifications overview
The Notifications overview displays all notifications. A filter and search bar enable filtering notifications by the connector that triggered them or by searching for particular orders, contacts, or products. Selecting a notification allows marking it as read, unread, or deleting it entirely, and these actions can also be performed in bulk.
Each notification appears as a separate entry in the table. In this table, the following information is provided:
- Whether it's read or unread, indicated by a blue bar on the left side of the table entry.
- The priority of the notification, which can be either high or low. High-priority notifications should be solved immediately (for example, an order that could not be imported, causing a delayed shipment), while low-priority notifications should be reviewed but do not immediately halt operations (for example, a contact name containing an unprocessable character).
- The connector that triggered the notification
- The date and time the notification was triggered
- A summary of the issue
Notifications detail page
Clicking on a notification opens the detail page, which provides in-depth information about the alert by displaying the email received in the inbox. The detail page includes the following data:
- The source platform of the error, indicating where the issue occurred. Depending on whether the source platform allows deep linking, this link might be clickable and direct to the specific data concerned.
- Optional: Spotler Connect ID. Clicking this link takes the user to the data in Spotler Connect.
Please note
The Spotler Connect ID might not be available if the error concerns a failed import. In that case, Connect has no data to display.
- A purple block that provides an interpretation of the error. Connect explains in laymen’s terms what the issue is and, if possible, how to resolve it.
- A link to the notifications overview
- Top right: A blue button to download the error message. This button allows downloading the raw error in code format as a .txt file
- Top right: A blue button to mark the notification as unread
Information column
The information column provides more in-depth details about the error. It shows:
- The account in which the error occurred
- The project in which the account is located (visible only if there is more than one project account)
- The severity of the notification
- The number of times the error has occurred
- The date of the first occurrence
Related order
If the notification concerns a data object that Connect can display (anything but an import error), a deep link to the related order or checkout is provided in this section.
