This article explains how order and checkout statuses in Shopify are mapped within Spotler Connect.

Order and Checkout statuses
Shopify distinguishes between various states for orders and checkouts. These multiple statuses can sometimes conflict when considered individually. Spotler Connect resolves these conflicts by mapping combinations of statuses, ensuring that an order is set to Processing only when it is ready for shipment. This is particularly important for E-fulfilment connectors.

Status priorities
Shopify is one of the few connectors that has several states for an order, which can lead to conflicting information when each state is considered separately (for example, a combination of fulfilment status Unfulfilled and payment status Unpaid does not combine well into an existing Connect status). Spotler Connect resolves these conflicts by applying the following priorities for determining status:

Order status – When an order is canceled in Shopify, Spotler Connect maps the order to
Cancelled. For all other order statuses, the fulfilment status is leading. -
Fulfilment status
- If the fulfilment status is
Fulfilled, the order is mapped toCompleted, regardless of the payment status. - If the fulfilment status is
Partially fulfilled, the order is mapped toPartially shipped. - If the fulfilment status is
UnfulfilledorScheduled, the payment status determines the final status.

Paid, the order is mapped toProcessing. - For any other payment status, Spotler Connect maps the status according to the table above.

The checkout process in Shopify is also mapped to corresponding statuses in Spotler Connect. The table below shows the mapping for checkout statuses. It's very straightfoward.
