Sometimes, you will need to import a product manually. For example, when you have just created a new product in your sales channel and want this product in Connect, that's when you use the manual import function.
Please note
This only works for new products. Existing products can be retrieved with the retrieve again button in the product detail view.
Manually Importing a product
To manually import a product in Connect, navigate to the product overview and click the Import product button on the top right of the main table. This action opens a popup asking for additional info:
- Data type to import: this will always be set to Product.
- Source connector: Select the platform you want to import the product from.
- SKU: The Sku is the identifier which Connect can use to retrieve the product. The way to find this ID differs per platform:
- WooCommerce: Navigate to the product overview and hover over the product. The ID will appear left to 'edit' (for example, 6660). If you have any variations for this product: open the product, navigate to the tab 'Variations' and copy the Variant ID (for example 6664).
- Shopify: Shopify shows Variant ID's, even if there are no variants of a product. Select the Shopify variant. The ID will be in the URL after '/variants/' (for example 39305042788354). For a more reliable import we also ask the Product ID. You will find this by navigating to the product, and NOT clicking any variant. The product ID is in the URL behind '/products/'.
- Magento: The product's SKU is also the Product ID.
- Lightspeed: Catalog ID.
- Prestashop: Product ID and Combination ID.
- Bol: Navigate to the product detail page. The Offer ID is in the URL after 'offerUid=' (For example, 90e18b7e-f2a9-4946-ace7-8cf17d2a584).
- Shopware: Navigate to the product detail page. The Product ID is in the URL after '/detail/' (For example, d383edb6952f422eb52055912de822a1). Please note: after the Product ID there is often another part of the URL continuing with '/base'. Don't copy this part!).
- Corax: The product's SKU is also the Product ID.
- HFB: the product's SKU is visible on the product detail page.
Once you've completed the questions above, click the Import product button. The process will run in the background, and after a few seconds, you will receive visual feedback on whether the import has succeeded. If it has succeeded, the product will appear in the product overview.
