Overview VTEX connector

The VTEX connector aims to synchronise order and contact data from VTEX with Spotler Connect, in order to sync that information through other connectors. In this article, you will learn more about:

Spotler Connect

Spotler Connect allows you to synchronise and transform data such as contacts, orders, or activities between external systems, even if no direct integration is available between them. Connect gathers your data, saves it in your account environment, and changes the format before exporting it to other systems if necessary. By doing this continuously for all connectors in your account, the software can maintain a complete overview of your data in different systems and keep it in sync.

In Connect, you can add account-wide or integration-specific rules to modify data based on conditions, block import or export, or add actions when a condition is met. These rules allow you to customise data being handled in a way that works for external systems—for example, when you want to synchronise mailing opt-ins, activities, or orders.

Orders

Orders from VTEX are imported based on a schedule. Every 5 minutes, an import is created. All orders with supported order statuses are imported into Connect. An overview of mapped VTEX order statuses and corresponding Connect statuses is available.

Products

New products created in VTEX are imported into Spotler Connect, and existing products are automatically updated and linked to a Connect Master Product. A product is considered new if Spotler Connect cannot match the barcode or SKU to an existing product in the same VTEX shop.

Product creation only works in one direction: from VTEX to Spotler Connect. Products created through other connectors are created in Spotler Connect but not automatically in VTEX. If such a product is later created in VTEX, it will be linked to the existing Connect master product.

Stock

Spotler Connect propagates stock updates to VTEX in real-time, based on stock changes received through external connectors with E-fulfilment and other sales channels. VTEX stock updates are also imported back to Connect on a 5-minute interval.

Shipments

Once a shipment for an order is created through a connector, the order is updated in VTEX with shipment information and tracking details. If a shipment is created or updated in VTEX, this will also be updated in Connect. Import of shipments from VTEX occur on a 5 minute interval.

Contacts

VTEX contacts are imported to Connect and existing VTEX customer profiles are updated based on changes coming through other connectors. This process is executed at 5-minute intervals. As soon as a contact is created in VTEX, a profile is made in Connect, and any related orders and checkouts are linked to the contact profile. If a marketing automation connector or any other connector manages contact profiles, the profile will also be created there. Changes in contact profiles are processed in the same way.

Checkouts

Checkouts are collected every 5 minutes, including pending and abandoned checkouts. Note that the interval for importing checkouts is not the same as the interval at which a checkout is marked as abandoned by VTEX.
